Meet-a-Mutual | Pitch Your Friend to an Audience | at Jackie's | Free

  • Jackie's 930 Southeast Sandy Boulevard Portland, OR, 97214 United States (map)

Meet-a-Mutual is a fun take on the pitch-a-friend trend where attendees promote or “sell” a friend to the audience in the form of a Power Point Presentation.

It's like making your friend a live dating app profile and pitching them in-person to a party hosted by a Meeting Mutuals (instead of an icky algorithm).

Here's how it typically works:

  • You, the friend, present your fabulous single friend who you think is awesome - highlighting their personality, quirks, interests, and what makes them a great catch - in a live presentation on a projector screen.

  • The presentation should be lighthearted and witty, kind of like a mini sales pitch or a dating profile, but with a personal touch.

  • It happens in real life! In front of an audience!

  • Include photos, videos, or fun facts to make the pitch more compelling.

How to participate:

  • Email us: Send us a PowerPoint presentation pitching your single friend (with their permission) by February 6th. We will select 5 or 6 Meet-a-Mutual decks to present at this event.

  • We'll let you know by February 9th if you've been selected as a presenter. We'll also have a waitlist just in case we have time for more presentations - we'll let you know if you should be prepared.

  • Send us $10 to lock in your presentation spot (we'll send an email with instructions).

  • Attend Meet-A-Mutual on February 12th: Show up and check in with the Host at 6:30pm.

  • Social: Promote the event on your socials! Invite your mutuals out to support you and your friend :)

If you want to be a presenter, and pitch a mutual to our live audience: email your presentation to hello@meetingmutuals.com by February 6th. We will review it, and if selected, we'll ask for the 10 dollar fee by February 11th to lock in your spot.

All pitches are subject to approval. Meeting Mutuals reserves the right to refuse or remove any presentation that is offensive, inappropriate, misleading, or not aligned with the values or format of the event.
